Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully. By accessing or using fitsthebin.com (the "Site"), you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site. Questions: [email protected].

The Site is operated by an individual based in Québec, Canada ("FitsTheBin", "we", "us").

1. What FitsTheBin is

FitsTheBin is a free information tool that helps travellers find luggage and check it against airline size and weight rules. The Site includes a database of airline rules and bags, and lets visitors submit new bags, airlines, corrections and comments.

FitsTheBin is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any airline, luggage brand or retailer. Names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.

2. Important: always verify with the airline

Airline baggage rules change often and vary by fare type, route, aircraft, loyalty status and other factors. Information on the Site comes from public sources and from user contributions. It may be incomplete, out of date or wrong.

3. Who can use the Site

The Site is for a general audience. If you are a minor, please use it with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian. You must follow these Terms and the laws that apply to you.

We may block access, remove content, or restrict use at any time, without notice, if we think these Terms are being broken or to protect the Site.

5. Your submissions and comments

"Submissions" means anything you send us through the Site (new bag or airline requests, rule flags, "did this bag fly" reports, comments, and similar).

6. Intellectual property

The Site's design, code, text, structure and compilation of the database are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. Everything else is reserved.

Copyright or other complaints. If you believe content on the Site infringes your rights, email [email protected] with: your contact details, a description of the work, the URL of the content, a statement that you have a good-faith belief it's unauthorized, and a statement that your information is accurate. We'll review it and may remove the content. We handle notices in line with Canadian law (including notice-and-notice) and, where relevant, the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

The Site links to airlines, retailers and other third parties, and relies on services such as Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft and Supabase. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, availability or practices.

9. Disclaimer

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't promise the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FitsTheBin and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, profits, travel arrangements, baggage fees, time, or data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Site or reliance on its content, even if we've been told such damage is possible.

Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to CAD $100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intentional fault or gross fault (including gross negligence), for bodily or moral injury, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the laws of Québec or other mandatory law.

11. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your Submissions or your breach of these Terms or of anyone's rights. This section doesn't apply to consumers where mandatory consumer protection law doesn't allow it.

12. Changes to the Site and the Terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue the Site, or any part of it, at any time. We may also update these Terms. We'll update the date above and, for material changes, post a notice on the Site. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them. If you don't accept, please stop using the Site.

13. Termination

You can stop using the Site at any time. We may suspend or end your access at any time for any reason. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as Sections 2, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11 and 14) will survive termination.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer (including the right to bring a claim in your place of residence where the law gives you that right), the courts of the judicial district of Montréal, Québec, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
